Know Him?

(A)dmit you need God...

We sin whenever we do something our own way instead of God's way. The Bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God" (Romans 3:23) this means that you and everyone you know has sinned and needs God to forgive them. There is no such thing as a sin too big for God to forgive. But you cannot get to God on your own, no matter how "good" you might be.

(B)elieve that God loves you and has a plan for your life...

God created and loves each one of us in spite of our sin. In fact He loves us so much he sent his Son, Jesus to die on the cross in order to pay for our sin. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world (this means you) that he gave his only son, so that whoever believes in him will not die but have eternal life." Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to bring you a future and a hope." This means you were put here for a reason and that if you believe God's promise he will bless your life.

(C)ount the cost...

God never promises that if you become a Christian and follow Him everything will be great, easy or perfect. In fact the Bible tells us that, "Everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" 2 Timothy 3:12 It may not be easy to follow Jesus. You may have to give up habits or friends. You may have to quit some things and begin some others. God does not promise happiness, which comes and goes, but he guarantees Joy, a permanent sense that God is in control. Jesus says "I have come to bring you life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10)

(D)ecide to follow Him...

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through me." (John 14:6) The only way to experience this permanent joy in your life is to know God and to follow his plan for your life. It is time for you to stop going the wrong way and turn and follow God! Prayer for Salvation:

"God, I recognize that I need you in my life. I have tried to fill that emptiness in my life with a lot of other things but nothing has worked. I know that I cannot find joy apart from you. I also know that before I ever gave you a second thought you loved me and sent your son to die for me so that I can not only spend eternity with you but live my life right now for you. God I do not take this decision lightly and I know that there will be a cost to following you that I am willing to pay. Right now I commit my life to you. I ask that you guide me and direct my path, that you take control and teach me how to please you with my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
